The Chief Secretary to the Treasury, The Rt Hon Elizabeth Truss MP hosted a sharing economy roundtable at Number 11 Downing Street with a group of Sharing Economy UK members. The event focused on how Government can support the sharing economy and make Britain a world leader in offering the services people want at their fingertips.
The conversation covered how the sharing economy can use resources better, power the economy and how regulation can be designed smarter and be innovation-friendly to support newer digital businesses.
Members shared their experiences and views around how they developed their platforms, barriers they have faced and what help they have had to get their business off the ground.
Robert Jenrick MP, Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury was also there and interested in hearing about how the sharing economy can help productivity.
It was a great discussion on the challenges and opportunities facing the sharing economy and we look forward to developing and taking forward ideas with Government.
